Skills Challenge Team
The Kenosha Area Business Alliance is a local program that has different Kenosha area schools participate in Jeopardy-type, academic competitions. CLS' team is lead by Mr. Mark Jedrzejczyk.
Mock Trial
In Mock Trial students play the roles of lawyers, witnesses, plaintiffs, and defendants, and they compete against other teams in the state. The students are judged on how well their roles are portrayed and their effectiveness in court.
The competition is run by the Wisconsin Bar Association, and we applaud the many lawyers and judges that volunteer their time to critique the trials. We also thank our own lawyer Thomas Hood for the many hours of mentoring he commits to the CLS Legal Eagles.
National Honor Society
National Honor Society membership selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. To fulfill the scholarship requirement, students must have a cumulative score of a 3.2 GPA. Mrs. Feest is the N.H.S. advisor for the Eagles on the Rise chapter of the National Honor Society. They meet every other week on Wednesday at 7:15 A.M..
Student Activities Committee
At the beginning of the year, the students in each grade vote for two people in their class to represent the class on the Student Council. The Executive Student Council is voted in by all the students at the end of the year and presides over the school in the next year. A group of 5 students who are either Juniors or Seniors can run for the Executive Student Council.
University of Wisconsin Platteville Annual Engineering, Math and Science Expo
Many students enjoy participating in this bridge building contest held each year at UW Platteville. Last year Christian Life students placed 4th out of 20 schools in the bridge competition. Students can also participate in the many activities put on by the college students including robotics, building a wind powered vehicle, designing an aerodynamic rear view mirror, the spaghetti bridge competition and much more.
