The Fine Arts department enjoys a vibrant presence at Christian Life School. Researchers and educators alike have long known the necessity and value of arts in education, recognizing how these disciplines incorporate subjects from all academics and lead students to develop critical and creative thinking, self-confidence, and self-motivation. Studies show that studying the arts improves grades, the ability to learn, and the capacity to function as a successful member of society.
CLS offers many such opportunities to students in drama classes, plays, musicals, concert choirs, show choirs, concert band, jazz bands, chamber music groups, orchestra, and art. As Christ followers, we believe that all talents are from God, and we teach that the arts exist for the sake of glorifying God and for sharing with others. Many of our students serve on worship teams in their churches and in the community.
Performances have included Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, Diary of Anne Frank, Meet me in St. Louis, A Christmas Carol, Fiddler on the Roof, Little Women, A Christmas tale, Camelot, Barefoot in the Park, Singing in the Rain, Pride and Prejudice, Sound of Music and Cheaper by the Dozen.
