K-4 Program

Each child has an assigned homeroom – The Lab, the Think Tank or the Discovery Studio - where they start the day. In the morning children will have the chance to participate in the activities in their homeroom. Then the children switch classrooms so they can experience the activities in the other room. The same will happen in the afternoon. Since the K-4 program is either full day or half day, the afternoon program is not a repeat of the morning.

The morning program includes arts and crafts, practical life, computers, circle time, geography science, Bible, phonics, snack, small and large motor skill activities, lunch outdoor time, gym music, language development, stories and once a week special with The Music Lady.

The afternoon program includes math, health, character building, handwriting, arts and crafts, Bible, community awareness, snack, computers, outdoor time, gym, language development, stories, music and special music once a week with The Story Book Lady.

The Bible curriculum in K-4 is from "Discipleland" and covers both the Old and New Testament through the use of stories. Children are also introduced to a new letter of the alphabet each week. In The Think Tank, they learn the phonics sound of each letter using A Beka curriculum and supplements from Language Arts by School Zone Publishing, and Practice makes Perfect by Teacher Created Resources Inc. They learn how to print using D'Nealian style handwriting and sign language for each letter. The math curriculum is from A Beka and supplements from Skill Builders by Summer Bridge Activities. The science curriculum is from Hands On Science. Each month The Lab will focus on a different theme: *I'm Something Special, *Community Helpers, *Weather and Seasons, *Magnets, Rocks and Objects…etc. The character-building curriculum is from Building Christian Character by Teacher Created Materials Inc. The Discovery Studio is a K-4 classroom offering similar opportunities in a half-day program.
