In the 3'School Room, children are introduced to a new theme each month. The Bible curriculum in this room includes stories, songs and crafts from Jesus is My Friend, Growing Up for God, God Blesses Me, God Takes Care of Me, and Growing Up with Amber Lamb from A Beka Books. Children have the opportunity to work in different centers throughout the day including blocks, lacing cards, sorting games, puzzles, play-dough etc. Also, worksheets are used from curriculum books that include Play and Learn ABC's, Numbers and Shapes, Early Learning Basic Skills and Pre-handwriting Practice.
The 3'School Room teachers work with the children toward the goal of having them meet milestones that will help them be successful in the K-4 program. These include but are not limited to:
- 80% of speech is understandable
- Uses 4-5 word sentences
- Uses 1000-1500 words
- Asks many questions
- Stays with an activity 8-9 minutes
- Builds ten block tower
- Begins to cut with scissors on a line
- Dresses self with minimal assistance
- Washes and dries hands
- Pours from small pitcher
- Engages in pretend play with other children
- Has special friends
- Draws two-part person
- Separates easily from parents
- Copies a circle and cross
- Catches a large ball
